This sauna has public shifts

Hakala Sauna is a historic public sauna in Halssila, Jyväskylä, built in 1950 for the workers of a stone quarry and later also used by local residents. Maintained by the city, the sauna operated until 1991, after which the plot was transferred to private ownership. In 2018, the Yläkaupunki Sauna Society (Yläkaupungin saunaseura ry) purchased the plot and renovated the deteriorated building through volunteer work and with the help of sponsors. The renewed Hakala Sauna opened in August 2019. Hakala Sauna is a sauna for members of the Yläkaupunki Sauna Society, but other city residents and visitors to Jyväskylä are also welcome to visit once.
