Puumala harbor is a traditional and lively hub of waterway traffic at the crossroads of the southern and northern Saimaa waterways. The area offers versatile services for boaters, and the harbor is easy to reach both by own boat and by cruise ship. In summer, the Puumalansalmi deep channel sees plenty of pleasure boats, cargo ships and log rafts moving through. The harbor has guest boat berths as well as reservable dock spots, which provide comprehensive services such as electricity, water, waste management and fuel distribution. Adjacent to the guest harbor is a service building with toilets, showers, laundry facilities and a sauna. The harbor info point serves daily during the summer season, and the harbor also has a septic tank emptying facility. Overnight fees vary according to the time and the size of the boat, and the price includes electricity as well as a general sauna turn. 2026: The Puumala Nature Hikers association will heat the sauna in winter for free winter swimming sauna turns open to everyone.
