Kesäpirtti is a summer retreat acquired in 1929 by the Tampere Region Workers' Institute Students' Association. The 4.5-hectare area is surrounded on three sides by Lake Näsijärvi. Kesäpirtti can also be reached by boat. The heart of Kesäpirtti is the area's main building, Pirtti, where a restaurant selling tasty home cooking operates on weekends. Kesäpirtti has two saunas, the little sauna and the big sauna, which are heated daily during the summer. On weekdays the little sauna is usually heated, while on weekends and during the busiest part of summer people enjoy the heat in the big sauna. The area is a summer retreat for the association's members, where guests are also welcome to bathe in the sauna and enjoy nature. The saunas have separate shifts for men and women.
