Imatran Valtionhotelli is an Art Nouveau castle completed in 1903, designed by architect Usko Nyström, located on the edge of the Imatrankoski rapids. Over the years, the historic hotel has served as, among other things, a military hospital and a headquarters department, and it has repeatedly been voted Finland's most beautiful building. Today the hotel is part of the family-owned Peerâ Hotels & Cottages company and offers accommodation both in the individual rooms of the original castle building and in the spacious family rooms of the newer congress wing. The accommodation selection also includes luxurious suites, such as the tower suite with magnificent views of the rapids. The hotel has diverse services, including a modern spa department with saunas and pools, as well as a free gym.
