The decision to build the Matkoslampi lean-to shelter was made in 2012, especially to serve the growing number of mountain bikers. The local Lions Club Mäntyharju donated the shelter for the use of the municipality of Mäntyharju and the area's hikers. In the summertime, the shelter can be reached along the mountain biking and hiking route that leads from Mäntyharju to Repovesi National Park. You can go swimming in Matkoslampi, where a pier has been built. At the shelter end, the pond is almost completely overgrown. You cannot get all the way there by car.
