This sauna has public shifts

Kukkolaforsen is a conference and experience center in the Torne Valley. The hotel, opened in December 2018, is located along the rapids. At Kukkolaforsen you can also stay in a hotel-level cottage apartment. The area has a restaurant, a historical fishing and cultural area, a fishing museum, the main location of the Swedish Sauna Academy, and a sauna museum. In the sauna museum area there are a total of 14 saunas, three of which are larger. The sauna world of almost ten saunas heats up once a week from Midsummer until the beginning of August for everyone. At Kukkolaforsen you can try dip-net fishing under a guide's instruction. The method of scooping whitefish, traceable back to the 1500s, is a distinctive feature of the village of Kukkola. To be able to catch whitefish from platforms built into the river, called "krenkuls" (a kind of jetty), the fisherman needs a net with a handle about 6 meters long.
