OPEN SAUNA MAPThe sauna of the Nekala allotment garden was built in 1947. A brick-built Russian-style single-heated stove, into which löyly was thrown through a hatch. The löyly is hot. Men and women have their own sections, but the stove is shared. Both saunas have their own hatch in the stove, so if/when the hatches are open, throwing löyly on one side also affects the other side. Care must be taken when throwing löyly so as not to burn oneself. The benches are on a level built of concrete, reached by concrete steps. You can go outside to cool off, but there is no possibility to swim. Unless you like swimming in a ditch. The washroom has showers. The washroom is in need of renovation, as the paint is flaking off the walls. The sauna is only heated in summer.
