The Palema Restaurant building is also home to the Slaughterhouse Sauna, renovated in respect of tradition. The Slaughterhouse Sauna's benches seat 8 bathers at a time, and the cosy changing room has benches for 20 people cooling off. Your own snacks stay cool in the changing room's fridge, and the cooling-off area in the yard has a kettle grill for bathers to use (bring your own charcoal!). The sauna can be booked even until six in the morning! The Palema building and sauna were completed in 1933, and it has been in use ever since.
