Majaniemi Cottage

Majaniemi Cottage is a hiker's base in the middle of Etelä-Konnevesi National Park, by the clear waters of Etelä-Konnevesi. When hiking the Three Mountains trail, you can spend the night halfway along the route, enjoy the peace of the national park and the soft löyly of Majaniemi's old log sauna. The cottage is available for rent during the summer season. Originally, at the tip of the cape stood the fishing hut of the Koski vicarage of the Rautalampi parish, to which the vicarage folk made summer boat trips. Today it is owned by the Laukaa parish, from which Majaniemi Ry has rented it, renovated it and now rents it out further as a base for hikers. At the tip of the cape there is a ship pier intended for large boats, and on the mainland side, at the sauna shore, there is a paddling pier for kayaks and smaller boats.
