Located in Inari, between the Muotkatunturi and Paistunturi wilderness areas, Giellajohka is a family-owned holiday village offering accommodation, dining and experiences amid the nature of Lapland. Situated along the Kielajoki river, the site was previously known as Kiellatupa, and the current entrepreneurs have been developing it since 2016, combining the peace of the wilderness with modern comfort. Its location far from the light pollution of populated areas makes it an excellent destination especially for observing the northern lights. The accommodation options are varied and cater to different needs. There are, for example, riverside cottages whose large windows offer views of the river and the sky, as well as the Guest House Ahku suited for larger groups, and a multi-purpose house. The area also has spots for campers. The holiday village's restaurant focuses on local and seasonal ingredients, offering flavors of Lapland from breakfast to dinner. For relaxation, Giellajohka offers the opportunity for traditional sauna bathing and winter swimming in fresh river water.
