Deer Spring is an atmospheric rest stop and travel destination in Äkäslompolo, along the outdoor trails of Ylläs. Located in a historically valuable logging-camp setting, the Stable Café offers visitors homemade pastries, such as doughnuts and pies, as well as a soup lunch depending on the season. In addition to the café, the yard is home to the historic Logging Camp Cabin, which offers wilderness-style accommodation, as well as the Logging Camp Sauna available for rent, complete with a hot tub option. The site is located about 13 kilometres from the centre of Äkäslompolo on the northern side of Kukastunturi, and it is easy to reach on skis, by bike, by car or even by snowmobile.
