OPEN SAUNA MAPMäntysalonkämppä is an old forest worker's cabin built in 1940, located on an island in the northern part of Kolovesi National Park. The cabin has been renovated for accommodation use and offers 120 square meters of space, including a large common room, kitchen and chamber. There is sleeping space for 14 people in bunk beds and on mattresses. The site has a wood-burning stove for heating, a gas stove and refrigerator for cooking, and basic dishware. Water comes from a yard well, but it should be boiled before drinking. The yard area has a wood-heated beach sauna and a dry toilet. Lighting is provided by candles and battery-powered lanterns, so bringing your own headlamp is recommended. The cabin must be reached by water, as it is located on an island. Coming from the south, you must use a canoe, rowboat, or electric motorboat, since the use of combustion engines is widely prohibited in Kolovesi National Park. Approaching from the north, a motorboat may also be used. The cabin's equipment includes a rowboat.
