Yrjölä Rental Cabin

Yrjölä is a rental cabin maintained by Metsähallitus, located in the area of Pyhä-Luosto National Park. The cabin is situated at the edge of the Pyhälatva aapa mire, with the Ukko-Luosto fell visible in the background. The building has a floor area of 26 square meters, plus a 7.5 square meter sleeping loft. The property is rented out entirely for the use of one's own group at a time, for a maximum of three nights. The cabin can be reached in summer and autumn by walking along the Luosto nature trail, marked in the terrain with green squares. From the starting point at Luostonportti the walking distance is about seven kilometers, and from Luostonloma about six kilometers, with the cabin itself located about 200 meters along a marked path from the main route. There is no winter route to the site, and in spring the flood period may prevent access. The cabin's amenities include a wood-heated stove or furnace, and in the yard there is a separate woodshed as well as a wood-heated sauna, the key to which is kept inside the cabin. The property has no electricity, and tenants are responsible for heating the cabin themselves, cleaning, and emptying the sauna's water containers before their departure.
