Hotel Rakuuna is a unique hotel located on Lappeenranta's historic Rakuunamäki, exuding the atmosphere of times past combined with modern comforts. The building is a former red-brick barracks, and its military history is reflected in the hotel's interior and story. The hotel offers a peaceful setting close to the city center and the shore of Lake Saimaa, and from there it is a short walk to, for example, Lappeenranta Fortress. Accommodation options are versatile, ranging from luxurious suites and spacious family rooms to authentic, army-style rooms for 4–6 people, which offer an experiential way to stay overnight. Guests have access to a cozy Sauna & Spa department, where they can relax in whirlpools and an infrared sauna. In the mornings, a healthy and abundant breakfast is served, including local bakery products and domestic berries. The hotel is smoke-free, and pets are also welcome in some of the rooms.
