Kotiluoto

Kotiluoto is a historical excursion destination with an area of three hectares. The island has impressively large erratic boulders and a stone villa over a hundred years old, which is now a protected site and rented for private use to boating associations. For hikers, Kotiluoto offers an information board, campfire sites, a dry toilet, and a self-service sauna, which can be booked from July to September. In summer the island can be reached by connecting boat or by one's own boat, and boaters have mooring rings at the northern tip and the western shore. The terrain of Kotiluoto is difficult to traverse, and there are no accessible facilities there. The area is also a valuable bird habitat, so peace and quiet are important during the nesting season. Together with the neighboring Villaluodot islands, Kotiluoto forms an outdoor island complex in the archipelago of eastern Helsinki.
