Härkävaara Wilderness Hut

This sauna has public shifts

Härkävaara wilderness hut is located in Urho Kekkonen National Park, in the area on the Savukoski side, which is demanding wilderness terrain. The site is intended for free, short-term rest and overnight use by independent hikers, and it is open all year round. The modest hut has sleeping places for ten people, and its equipment includes a stove for heating and a gas stove for cooking. There is no drinking water point in the area, so natural water must be purified before use. Hikers must bring their own cooking equipment and carry their own waste out of the area, as there is no waste management at the site. Pets are welcome in the hut only with the consent of other users. There is also a sauna in the yard of the wilderness hut.
