Tahvo's Cabin is a hut located in the wilderness part of Urho Kekkonen National Park in the municipality of Savukoski, serving both as a free open wilderness hut and as a fee-based reservable hut. The site is a demanding wilderness destination that requires orienteering skills to reach, and it is not accessible during the spring thaw season. On the fee-based reservable hut side, a hiker can secure a bed in advance for 1–2 nights. The reservable hut is shared accommodation, where guests sleep in the same space side by side on sleeping platforms, and its equipment includes mattresses, blankets and pillows. Hikers must bring their own sheets or a sleeping bag. The open wilderness hut side, located in the same building, is intended for short-term resting and overnight use by independent hikers without advance booking, and it has sleeping places for six people. Both sides are in use year-round. The hut's equipment includes a wood stove for heating and a gas stove for cooking. There is no drinking water point in the area, so natural water must be purified before use, and there is no waste management at the site. Pets are welcome in the open wilderness hut only with the consent of other users. In the yard there is a separate wood-heated sauna, for the use of which a separate sauna fee is charged.
