The city of Hämeenlinna owns a forest estate of about 1000 hectares called "Turvan tila" at Tarus, in the southwestern part of Padasjoki, near Evo. Cabin rentals began in the 1970s. The area has both free fire places and lean-to shelters available for everyone, as well as rentable trekking destinations that are former logging camp cabins. The Kelkutteen logging camp cabin is intended for 12 people and has furnace heating and gas lighting. The rental includes a shoreline sauna, a grill shelter and a rowing boat, as well as a fenced yard area. The well water contains iron but is suitable for household use.
