Levävaara Abandoned Farm

The Levävaara wilderness hut is located in Kainuu, in the Elimyssalo nature reserve of Kuhmo. In the yard of the property there is a traditional smoke sauna, which is used by the sheep herders operating in the area. This is a wilderness destination maintained by Metsähallitus. The smoke sauna is usually heated on request, or it is used in connection with wilderness treks and sheep herding weeks, during which visitors can heat the sauna themselves.
