Hiidenmaa Farm

Hiidenmaa Farm is a rental cabin maintained by Metsähallitus in Mikkeli, South Savo. The main building has three rooms and an entrance kitchen, with beds for ten people. The property is always rented out in its entirety for the use of your own group. The rental cabin operates from late May to late October, but from May to September the property is also used to accommodate shepherds through the national shepherd application programme. The building has no running water, so drinking water must be brought along. Heating is provided by a stove, a baking oven and a cylinder stove, and for cooking the kitchen has a gas cooker, a refrigerator and a root cellar behind the house. The cabin has a solar power system and LED lighting, as well as the possibility to charge phones. The yard includes a wood-heated sauna, a dry toilet in the old cowshed, a woodshed and an open campfire site. About 200 metres away at the shore there is a rowing boat available for tenants' use.
