The Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall is Finland's first and oldest public swimming hall, completed in 1928. The swimming hall was designed by architect Väinö Vähäkallio and represents 1920s classicism. The building is of cultural and historical value, and its pool areas have a historical spa atmosphere. The swimming hall's facilities are spread over two floors. On the first floor there is a swimming pool, two electric saunas and lockable changing cubicles. The depth of the swimming pool varies from 0.9 metres to 3.4 metres, and it has two lanes for swimmers and one for water joggers. On the second floor there is a wood-heated sauna, a steam sauna, an infrared sauna and a sauna available for booking. In addition, the second floor has curtained resting cabins, which also serve as changing cubicles and have a lockable drawer for valuables. At the swimming hall you can swim either in a swimsuit or nude. Women and men have their own swimming days.
