On the island there is a restaurant and accommodation in the main building completed in 1918 and designed by Eliel Saarinen, the Stone Castle. Guests staying overnight have their own sauna slots in the evening. The sauna also has public slots, the price of which includes the water bus trip to the island. The Stone Castle was built by the merchant K.E. Kontro, but the island has long been owned by the Helsinki Parish Union. From the 1950s onwards the island served as a camp centre for confirmation school students. The sauna building, however, was probably built later. Nowadays the premises are leased to SFR Finland, which operates the water buses.
