Salpakeskus consists of two museums and a hiking trail connecting them, whose common theme is the Salpa Line, a roughly 1200-kilometer defensive position built after the Winter War in 1940–41 and 1944, stretching from the Gulf of Finland to Petsamo. The Salpa Line Museum in Miehikkälä presents the construction history of the line through indoor and outdoor exhibitions. Accommodation is available on site, bicycles or snowshoes can be rented, and meeting, wellbeing, and celebration services are offered for groups. The Bunker Museum in Virolahti focuses on the beginning of the line and offers, among other things, the possibility of staying overnight in a ball bunker as well as nature trails such as the Unknown Soldier's Path and the Wilderness Path, along with fatbike rental.
