The Tarkkala farm in Savukoski is a unique residential environment that survived the destruction of the Lapland War and a culturally and historically valuable example of Finnish wilderness living. In the yard area, the smoke sauna on the riverside has also been preserved. A sauna has been moved to the riverside from a cabin destroyed in the Kotaseljä fire.
