Turku Swimming Hall

A swimming hall designed by architect Erik Bryggman and completed in 1954, located in connection with the Turku student houses, also designed by Bryggman. The upper floor of the building houses a sports hall. The swimming hall is the first in Turku and the fourth oldest indoor swimming hall intended for public use in Finland. The hall has a 25-metre pool and only one set of changing and washing facilities, so men and women swim on alternate days. In the early days, swimsuits were not allowed in the swimming hall, but their use has since become mandatory. According to the company responsible for running the hall, operations were suspended for an indefinite period in January 2022 due to renovation.
