Restaurant NJK is a villa-style summer restaurant built in 1900, located on Valkosaari island in Helsinki, and is open only during the summer season from May to early autumn. The island is reached by a short connecting boat trip from the mainland, near the Olympia Terminal on Ehrenströmintie. The restaurant's offering focuses on dinners and à la carte dishes, and the place is traditionally known for hosting crayfish parties. Singing drinking songs is allowed and is an integral part of the restaurant's culture. NJK has a central hall, several verandas, and an outdoor terrace, from which sea views open up to, among others, the Market Square, Eteläranta, and Katajanokka. On the terrace you can dine or just come for drinks. In addition to its actual restaurant operations, NJK offers spaces for various private events, parties, and meetings, and the island also has a booking sauna.
