Ruunaa Hiking Centre is located on the bank of the Lieksanjoki river, in the middle of the Ruunaa hiking area, next to the Neitikoski rapids. The area has over 50 kilometres of marked hiking trails that connect to the Bear's Trail. Accommodation options include cabins, storehouse huts, electrical hook-up sites for caravanners and camping areas. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch daily during the summer season and, by order, dinner and supper from a buffet table. Fresh Karelian pasties and pastries from the centre's own oven are also available. Activities include hiking, fishing, canoeing, whitewater rafting, hunting, berry picking, mushroom picking and trekking. In winter you can go snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Whitewater rafting can be enjoyed by rubber boat on four rapids or by wooden boat on six rapids along a 16-kilometre stretch.
