The Hangasjärvi trekking cabin is located in northern Korpilahti, in the village of Tikkala. The outdoor recreation area was established in the 1980s as part of the Central Finland provincial trail. The cabin and the sauna were designed by the well-known log-building architect Risto Vuolle-Apiala. Norwegian mountain cabins were used as the model for the cabin. The cabin was completed in 1982 and the sauna a couple of years later. The Hangasjärvi trekking cabin is maintained and rented out by the Northern Korpilahti Cooperation Association (Poko). There are no showers, but you can access the water via a plastic pontoon dock.
