This sauna has public shifts

Solisranta wilderness sauna is located in Viitasaari on the shore of Pohjois-Keitele. Open to bathers from the beginning of July 2026, the site is a new log sauna that offers a landing spot and resting area especially for those traveling on the water. The sauna's equipment includes a wood-burning stove with a water tank, and the large window of the steam room opens onto a view of the lake. The changing room and sauna are located in the same building, on either side of a covered walkway. Next to the sauna building there is a dry toilet, and nearby there are also two campfire spots and a woodshed. No advance bookings can be made for the sauna; it is freely available for use, like saunas at other nature sites. Use is based on self-sufficiency, so each bather is responsible for cleaning the facilities and leaving them in good condition for the next visitors. Between 12:00 and 21:00 there are recommended shifts set separately for men, women, and mixed and family shifts, but bathers can also agree on shifts flexibly among themselves. In front of the sauna there is a gently deepening sandy bottom where you can swim, although it is not an official or supervised swimming beach. Smaller boats can land directly on the sandy beach, taking into account the rocky areas at the edge of the shore. Larger boats can moor at the steeper rocky shores of the headland or at the new concrete pontoon pier to be installed during summer 2026. When arriving by land, note that from the barrier installed on the last stretch of the road, the rest of the way to the sauna must be walked.
