Kallioselä cabin is an old and atmospheric forest cabin located along the Tar Route in the Oulujoki valley. The cabin has sleeping space for about 6-7 people, and its facilities include a wood-burning stove, a cooker, and some dishes. In the yard area there are a kota (teepee-like hut), a sauna, a well, and an outhouse. Firewood is delivered to the site regularly. The site is intended primarily for short-term resting and overnight stays by private individuals travelling on foot or by ski. Use of the cabin is based on wilderness hut etiquette, where space is always given to the last to arrive, and each user is responsible for tidiness, splitting firewood for the next visitors, and proper disposal of waste when leaving. The cabin can be reached by driving along the road on the north side of the Oulujoki for about 15 kilometers toward Pilpajärvi and turning onto Pilpa-ahontie, which is driven for 3.5 kilometers. The Tar Route crosses the road, and the car can be left by the roadside.
